The regions play a crucial role in providing leadership and cross-government co-ordination; their central delivery mechanism
will be their joint work with strategic health authorities, as well as local area agreement delivery partners. Many regions have taken a lead on specific areas and continue to support both innovation and best practice.
The regions each have an obesity lead who is responsible for working with the health authorities to influence policy at national, regional and local levels, develop key relationships for local delivery and strengthen performance management. There are also other relevant healthy weight/obesity networks in each region that are being linked to.
